Finalizing applications and financial aid
College Application Information
Senior year is when you submit your college applications. Key steps include:
- Finalize your college list (reach, match, and safety schools)
- Complete and submit applications (Common App, UC Application, or individual school portals)
- Write and polish your personal statement and supplemental essays
- Request official transcripts from digiTIES
- Submit recommendation letters from teachers and counselors
- Meet all application deadlines (Early Action, Early Decision, Regular Decision)
Financial Aid Information
Securing financial aid is a critical part of the college process:
- Complete the FAFSA as early as possible (opens October 1)
- Apply for scholarships — local, national, and college-specific
- Review and compare financial aid award letters from accepted colleges
- Understand the difference between grants, scholarships, loans, and work-study
- Contact college financial aid offices with any questions
Senior Year Timeline
